What is CIC?
A community interest company (or CIC) is a special form of non-charitable limited company, which exists primarily to benefit a community or with a view to pursuing a social purpose, rather than to make a profit for shareholders. Place Positive CIC works to inspire understanding of the climate emergency through business support networks to help develop action to impact their carbon footprint. Any profits will provide low or no-cost training to community groups and other not-for-profits. The company’s activities will provide benefit to communities across Great Britain and Ireland who all need multi stakeholder partnerships to mitigate the systemic threat of climate change. We have no plans to change to charitable status nor seek additional funding or grants at this time.
Climate Change is all too much: how can I make a difference by myself?
